We are prevented, by law, under the terms of our licence, from accepting the designated ‘dangerous breeds’. currently; Argentine Dogo, Fila Brasiliero, Pit Bull Terriers, and Japanese Tosa. American XL Bullies are now subject to certain legal restrictions & requirements.

Other than these, we do not refuse any other dog purely because of its breed. We may however refuse certain individual dogs, based on other factors, some of which are mentioned in the terms and conditions, below.

These terms and conditions relate to an agreement between ‘Nicky’s Place’, who offer to board your dog[s] for the agreed period and you, the customer, who accepts to pay the stipulated charges for that boarding service.

No dog will be accepted for boarding without documented proof that all required vaccination and inoculations are current and up to date. Currently; All dogs must be vaccinated against all relevant diseases including; Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, and kennel cough. Proof of flea and worm treatment is also required, including the dates when such treatments were given.

In addition to the above requirements, we also reserve the right NOT to accept a dog for boarding if they are known to be DESTRUCTIVE,  AGGRESSIVE or UNDULY NOISY, or have not seemed happy, and settled, on a previous stay with ourselves, or if, at the time of arrival, they are obviously unwell, or in very poor condition, or are aggressive towards anyone at these premises If a dog is not accepted by us due to the reasons detailed above or, if you alter or cancel the booking without giving a minimum of 30 days notice, then the full BOARDING fee will still be payable.

As your dog is coming to a relatively unfamiliar environment, compared to home, we recommend that you bring a supply of their usual food; This should help to allay the possibility of upset tummies, and the like. We do keep a stock of various foods, and we are happy to feed your dogs with these, at no extra cost, during their stay, if that is what you prefer. In either case; if the dog refuses to eat the food, then we reserve the right to try other, different foods, to tempt them, but this may involve additional costs for foods not normally stocked by us. And this cost may be passed on to yourselves.

Our kennels are furnished and equipped in a homely style to try to help your dog feel as ‘at home’ as possible. The full resulting cost of any damage caused by your dog will be charged to yourself so; if your dog is known to be destructive, then we suggest that you inform us of such at the time of booking and, that you then bring your own bedding to be used for the duration of the stay.

We would, in any case, suggest that you bring an existing one of the dog’s own blankets &/or an old sweater, or similar, of your own, so that your dog has, with him, an item with a familiar scent. If your dog needs prescribed medication then please ensure that sufficient of that medication is provided to us for at least the duration of the booking, [BEARING IN MIND POSSIBLE FLIGHT DELAYS ETC.] together with the original packaging, instructions, and written dosage rates. Any pre-existing medical conditions must be notified, to ourselves, at the time of booking.

Please note that our own insurance does not cover us for pre-existing conditions. We reserve the right to consult a veterinary surgeon, on your behalf, should, in our opinion, this be necessary, and the costs resulting from this will be payable by yourselves. Any client, wishing his dog[s] to share with other dogs from the same household, accepts that this is at their own risk. If, at any time during the stay this seems to be causing undue risk, or discomfort, to any of them, then we reserve the right to organize alternative, separate, accommodation, the additional cost of which will be your responsibility.

Check-in & Check-out times are detailed on our current price list. Full payment is due by the time of the arrival of your dog. We currently accept payment by Cash or by Bank Transfer, but we do NOT accept payment by card or cheque.
